Thank you to everyone for all of the incredible memories we've made together on The LEGO Experience Tour! We visited over 40 cities and built with hundreds of thousands of you. From space ships to dragons, pumpkins to Santa Claus, skyscrapers to bugs, houses to boats, we've seen you build anything and everything out of LEGO toys. There are amazing builders out there! Every city, every step of the way, every conversation and every brick has left such memories in our hearts. Here are some of the highlights:

EAST Team
Kai - Helping a little boy who has never built with LEGO before build an awesome house. He was so proud of it because he didn’t know how to build before that day.

Parker - at our last tour stop, a child's mother came up to me and told me her daughter wanted to show her creation to me. After I saw it I told her "good job, give me a high five!" After she did, she was so excited that I liked her creation that she jumped up and down and then gave me a hug while her mother did the "awwww" emotion.

Kelly - Cute, polite, talkative kids! I loved building with the kids and improving my own building skills at the same time! I remember one boy in Charlotte who was playing at the DUPLO table and wanted to make a huge tower. So I helped him and taught him about interlocking/"cross the line." When he had to go, he told me to save it until he could come back and add some more, He said so proudly in his southern accent, "You and me, we made that!"

Jesse - Hearing stories of how LEGO has changed so much over the years from parents.

Candice - Seeing that the tour activities are so popular among kids that they never wanted to leave the event site.

WEST Team
Ryan - The creativity of each and every kid that visited The LEGO Experience Tour will continue to inspire me.

Kylie - The smiles, the hugs and the great conversations I've shared with all of you!

Jason - Fountain Hills Festival, San Francisco Zoo - how do I pick one memory? They were all magical moments!

Helen - Halloween was a top moment, dressing up and seeing what everyone else was wearing was great fun not to mention building Halloween scenes out of LEGO bricks.

Gavin - It's been an amazing ride; the Family Challenge Experience was my favorite. I loved seeing the creative ideas get put into a fun competition.

The Spotlight Kids, a group of young talented performers not only entertained carnival attendees, they stopped by to play with LEGO bricks at the LEGO Experience. We were glad to have them too because they provided entertainment for LEGO Experience guest for much of the day. Soaring vocals and bricks clicking were the sounds of the day!

The Amazing Travels of East Team & minifig

When we're not busily building away with you fine folks under the zoom of a Blue Angel plane or beside a high speed race (more on that later!), the East Team and minifigure like to go out and see the sites of the local cities! We recently visited the the hometown of "The King of Rock and Roll," Memphis, TN. We had a great time seeing everything, but we think Memphis had an even better time seeing us, thanks to our own "King of the Bricks," minifigure!

At the famous Peabody Hotel, we stopped to see the Peabody ducks daily grand entrance, and the official Peabody Duckmaster was so excited to see minifigure that he made him a special guest of honor!

After stopping for a quick photo shoot in the streets of Memphis, we headed over to Elvis's home and had fun looking at all the old cars and memorabilia.

We love traveling the country, and we're not done yet! Be sure to come by the LEGO Experience Tour and play a game of "Favorite Family Vacation" with us in the Family Challenge (a game-show style family fun challenge) so that you can show us where YOU love to travel!

Brick Clickin' Champ in San Antonio

Click! Click! Click! Click! Those were the sounds of pictures being taken of 6 year old Robert Richardson, a local LEGO superstar as he walked up to the LEGO Experience in San Antonio, TX. You see Robert won a national LEGO contest for building a Star Wars spacecraft within an hour. When he entered his "Anakin's Attack Shuttle" in July he told his mom he knew he would win he just needed to know the date when they would announce the winner.

Imagine his mother's surprise when he received his congratulatory letter. Her response," I wasn't surprised. He is really confident in his abilities." She also mentioned that Robert aspires to be a LEGO Master Builder when he grows up. Robert was quoted as saying in the San Antonio Express, a local paper highlighting his achievement, "I'd rather play with LEGO bricks than watch TV."

The beauty of the story? Robert started building with some new builders on site at the LEGO Experience Tour. He showed them some of his tips and tricks for building and they were all soon having a blast together!

Well we must admit Robert is on the right path to becoming a Master Builder and we applaud his efforts. Keep it up Robert!

East Team Faces the Storm

The East Team was welcomed with a bang this week to Pensacola, Florida by Hurricane-turned-Tropical-Storm Ida! Through all the torrential rainfall and high-speed winds, the LEGO Experience Tour's will could not be broken! We went to sleep with rain pounding our windows, but we woke up to sunshine peeking through the clouds and some impressive waves to watch in the Gulf of Mexico!

Ida can't stop the LEGO Experience Tour! We're looking forward to being at the Blue Angel's Homecoming Air Show this weekend in Pensacola! Come find us and tell us how you beat Ida, too!

“It’s close to midnight and something is lurking in the dark, under the moonlight you see a sight that almost stops your heart. You try to scream and then you realize it’s just minifig dressed in his Halloween costume.”

Whew! What a relief!

It’s that time of year that everybody loves to dress up into their favorite characters. What will you wear this year? Many of you have expressed your love for the spooky holiday as much as you have for your love of LEGO bricks. Some have even combined the two by creating all kinds of interesting creations at our more recent stops in Dallas and Phoenix. We have seen everything from pumpkins, to monsters, to goblins, to ghost all made with LEGO bricks. It’s been pretty awesome watching these creations come together too!

One game that incorporates a lot of these creations has been “20 Questions.” At the event sites we have put our own spin on it and it goes by the name “Stump the Host” and the object of the game is for you to build something and the host has three chances to guess what you are attempting to build. It is so much fun! When the object is to stump the host all kinds of creative ideas come to the fore producing some amazing builds and we have been blown away by most of them.

If you had the opportunity to “Stump the Host”, what would you build? Put on your thinking caps because the LEGO Experience is coming to a town near you and you just might get the chance to Stump the Host.

Listen. Can you hear it? Listen closer. That is the sound of the west coast team marching to the sound of the LEGO beat through the mountains and vineyards of northern California to the sunny pristine beaches of southern California! Through New Mexico and on into Texas – wowee, we’ve really been traveling far lately!

Minifig marched his charges up the coast to San Francisco for a stop at the San Francisco Zoo. Minifig had a great time hanging out with the animals. The kids were really excited to see the LEGO Experience as they entered the gates of the zoo. They immediately ran over to the Construction Experience tent to free-style build and add their creations to the cityscape in the middle of the tent. It amazes us still how kids creativity and originality come to life when LEGO bricks are placed before them.

And the beat goes on. It took us to Riverbank, CA for the 33rd Riverbank Wine and Cheese Exposition where we experiencedlive music, great food, local wines and cheese, arts and crafts, and kid rides. The local community embraced the LEGO Experience with open arms and really had a good time getting in touch with their inner child while introducing the brand to a new generation of LEGO users. One such user was Josiah who never played with LEGO bricks prior to the LEGO Experience. Josiah started out in the Construction Experience and slowly built his confidence with every creation he made. Once he felt confident in his building abilities he ventured over into the Family Challenge where he proceeded to play game after game!

In the Big T – Texas that is, we had a whirlwind four days of building and meeting incredible folks…But there it goes again. Do you hear it? It's the ever-present rhythm of the LEGO Beat. And we march on.....next stop: Phoenix, Arizona!

And land we did! But not for too long, because the East Team and minifigure took to the sky for a little air show preview in a Dixie Wing C-45 with the Commemorative Air Force! It was amazing to think that we were riding in a plane from World War 2 as we passed over the quarries, forests, pools, and mansions in the Peachtree City area!

After safely making it back on the ground, we got to spend the next two days building at show center with all sorts of je

ts and planes zooming overhead! This proved to be quite the inspiration for a lot of builders. The Construction Experience turned into an air show itself as folks made jets, helicopters, planes, air traffic control towers, and airports! Take a look

at this LEGO bi-plane and runway that Nick built. It could have been flying with the big planes!

Over in the Family Challenge, families were yelling over the sound of the Navy's F/A 18 Hornet jet to give building instructions in a game called Listen Up! With this game, one person is the "director" who secretly builds something and then gives instructions to the rest of the team to try and recreate the same creation. It's a great game to build effective communication...even in the noisiest of situations!

We had a peachy time in Georgia, but the road is calling us again. There is a state fair in Raleigh, North Carolina waiting for us! See you there!

Vroooom!!! That was the sound of the Blue Angels soaring over head in Reno, NV for the 2009 Reno Air Races. The precision and skill of the Blue Angels is a sight to behold.

One of the highlights of the weekend inside the Construction Experience tent was a creation by siblings and their cousin: Kyle Zadina, Erin Zadina, and Kayla Warner. They created a tribute to the 2009 Reno Air Races that was very impressive!

After wrapping in Reno, NV, we headed to the sweltering temperatures of Redding, CA. Temperatures climbed above the 100 degrees mark both days topping at 113 degrees Saturday. Even with the heat, 30,000 plus came out to enjoy the show and all had a blast. The Blue Angels didn't disappoint for a second weekend straight.

The crew even took minifigure up for his first helicopter ride which could only be described in one word: exhilarating! As we soared over the river basin in Redding at a whopping 120mph all we could think about was: where do we sign up for lessons!? It was a ton of fun!

We just touched down in Carlsbad, CA enjoying the chance to explore LEGOLAND before the Miramar Air Show in San Diego. If you see the LEGO Experience vehicles don’t hesitate to say hello. We look forward to seeing you there!

East Team Meets Special Fans Along the Way...

Hello again! We just finished up a great weekend at the York Fair in Pennsylvania!

Everyone on the team enjoys building with all of you fine folks who come out to the fairs, but we have one team member, in particular, who is always having fun building his own creative creations and encouraging others in theirs. We like to consider him our LEGO master of sorts, Jesse! Jesse has a love for building tall towers, so he enjoys leading families in a friendly game of "Speed Build" whenever he's in the Family Challenge tent! He can always see the teamwork and competitive spirit come to life in parents and kids alike as they try to build the tallest towers they can in a matter of minutes!

The tall towers aren't just restricted to the Family Challenge, though. Sometimes the LEGO city in the Construction Experience turns into a sky scrapper skyline! While the Construction Experience is normally competition free, one particular builder we met at the York Fair had a personal challenge to build a tower as tall as the building we were next to! Pete was working for quite some time at this project, as he constructed piece by piece the tallest tower we've ever seen! When he finished, his tower stood around eight feet tall! Awesome job!

We had another pleasure of meeting someone who has been following us here on the blog! Pat from North Carolina first heard about the LEGO Experience Tour from her grandson's local LEGO club, and came to our blog here to read more about us. She happened to be visiting some friends in the area and came to the York Fair to meet minifigure and see the tour.

We loved meeting her and can't wait to build with her and her grandson when we head to Raleigh in October!

What an awesome experience we shared in Minnesota with fellow LEGO enthusiasts!!

After trying everything on a stick from chicken to shrimp to pizza, it was time to wrap up and head to Pueblo, Colorado for the Colorado State Fair. "Rolling, rolling, rolling" seems to be the soundtrack to our journey westward.

We have been truly humbled as we traveled through the majestic mountain ranges of Colorado and the salt plains of Utah. We consider it an honor and a privilege in bringing the LEGO Experience to a town near you.

One of the memorable moments that comes to mind was during a round of The Family Challenge. The challenge went as follows: “If you were stranded on a deserted island and you could have one item what would it be?” The families would have two minutes to create it. Well, the creations varied from ipods, to books, to a boat, to a bed. The final family created the word "LOVE" with their bricks and a collective "AWWWW" went over the crowd. It was a touching moment for all that witnessed it and brought a heartwarming experience to the LEGO staff.

Also their was Brian Dailey who provided us all with a moment of reflection as he created a memorial acknowledging the events of Sept. 11. There are so many stories to share and hopefully when we meet you on our journey you can share yours.

Hello friends! Wow, big weekend in Cleveland, OH and now off to Nashville, TN! But in the meantime, here’s some updates on our fun along the way.

At The LEGO Experience Tour, we’ve met quite a few families, as it’s a great activity for builders of all ages and skill levels to enjoy. We love hearing your stories about LEGO sets being passed down from parents to kids, then those kids to their kids! We’ve had grandparents tell us that they gave LEGO sets to their kids and now are giving them to their grandkids. One gentleman told us about a LEGO kitchen set that his sister used to play with that his daughters now plays with. Wow! I guess LEGO can run in the family!

One girl we met yesterday built quite a nice looking St. Louis Arch. When asked if she builds at home, she responded that she builds spaceships. Her dad chimed in, playfully denying that it’s a family trait. The little builder set the record straight that Dad has been making LEGO spaceships for as long as she’s known him, so now she does too!

Parker is one of our LEGO crew members here on Team East, and one of his favorite games in the Family Challenge is a specialized version of “Brick-ture.”

He is often challenging families to build their favorite activity at the fair because it’s so interesting to come around after the game and hear about the cow barns, spinning rides, and fair foods that delighted these families. It’s also a good way for the families themselves to recount their adventures in a simple and fun way! It’s amazing how well a two-minute barnyard full of animals can turn out!

Parker and the rest of the gang are looking forward to seeing what else you all can build in three minutes, so come on out and build with us! If you already have, you know the drill! On your mark, get set, LEGO!

Meet Team West

Wow, wow, and wow! What an amazing journey it’s been for the West Coast Team. Even though this is only week 2 of the tour, it feels like we have known each other for years already. By the way, allow me to take a minute to introduce you to everyone on the West Squad.

First there is our fearless leader Ryan. Ryan hails from Portland, OR and is a very animated and fun guy. You can't miss him.

Next there is Helen who hails from Chicago. Helen is comedic relief, always making the most unique and hilarious observations. Then there is Nick, from Columbus, OH. Nick is the detail king and also a comedian in his own right always sharing a good laugh with the crew.

Next up to bat, there is Kylie who hails from the sunshine state of Florida. Kylie is one tough cookie. Don’t let the cute looks fool you. She holds her own with the best of them.

Last but not least there is Jason (that would be me) who hails from Atlanta, GA. I am the laid back, cool, muscle, and glue of the operation. You might catch me dancing on sight at any impromptu moment. Make sure you say hello to the team when we come to your town.

Recently, the team and I took The LEGO Experience Tour to Rockford, IL for the 2009 Rockford AirFest. Two words to describe the feats we witnessed up close and personal: Simply amazing!

We were fortunate enough to be set up on the airfield directly in the line of sight of jets taking off and landing. It was truly an exhilarating experience watching these modern marvels of aeronautics seemingly defy the laws of physics with ease. The sonic booms back to back to back to back really gave us an appreciation for how fast these jets really fly.

The LEGO Experience Tour's East Team Takes on Indianapolis!

Chicago was fun, but we were all eager to get on the road and start showing minifigure the rest of the country. We piled into our truck, bid goodbye to the West Team and headed east to Indianapolis. The Indiana State Fair was waiting for us.
Our first day looked as if it might be a washout as we set up the tents. We got a little wet as we prepared for the fairgoers, but thankfully by the time the grounds opened, the clouds had passed, and everyone was ready for four days of Indianan State Fair, LEGO Experience fun!
Situated quite nicely by the Free Stage, lumberjack show, and more stands of fried vegetables, pineapple whip, corn dogs, and elephant ears than you could count, we met thousands of builders of all sizes and ages. The Construction Experience tent was always a bustle of activity and creativity, as our LEGO city was filled to capacity every day with towers, ships, houses, car washes, parks, hospitals, movie theaters, and so much more! Inspired by their favorite football team, a pair of brothers even constructed this Colts stadium; minifigure gave his nod of approval to all these great wonders!

Fair-inspired games dominated the Family Challenge. Teams worked quickly all throughout the day building their favorite fair foods, treats, animals, and rides. These fairgoers sure did love their corn on the cob, cotton candy, cows, and ferris wheels! The tallest tower competition was still a hit, though, especially with our star judge, minifigure!

Launch at Lincoln Park Zoo - Chicago, IL

Chicago, Chicago, that tottlin’ town! Chicago is a beautiful city and full of action! With planes flying at mind-boggling speeds overhead, boats cruising the great Lake Michigan and real, live lions roaring just feet away, The LEGO Experience Tour kicked off for a weekend of fun and never-ending smiles at The Lincoln Park Zoo.

We (both the East Bound and West Bound teams) welcomed kids, adults, families and friends of all ages to come and play, build and create whatever they wanted! We displayed their amazing creations in our Construction Experience (where anyone and everyone can build whatever they want for as long as they want!) –where we’ve never seen such impressive builds of the Willis (formerly Sears) Tower before! But, we happen to love that special birthday cake that a new buddy built for his friend (chocolate, strawberry and vanilla!)

In The Family Challenge Tent games were running non-stop as we challenged families and friends to build the tallest towers they could, their favorites animals or just anything they could think of starting with the letter “j,” any many more.
So many creative minds in Chicago…but, with the whole country to visit, we can’t wait to see what else awaits us! What can you build? What do you see? How fast can you construct? Well….come on out and show us! Check out our calendar, we’d love to see you and your creative builds soon!

Wow!

I am so excited because I'm about to set out on an amazing adventure!

Sure, I've traveled a bit, but never as I'm about to do now. The best part about it? I get to bring all my friends and work at the same time.
